Success at the Design and Technology Rotary Tournament 2010
Each team had to design and construct a beacon which would have a flashing light and advertise a charity of their choice.
AHS was successful in two categories. The Year 9 team of Rachel Baker, Harriet Baldwin, Anna Bockmuehl and Em Flecknell (all 9A) won the overall award for "Best Design Portfolio", beating every other age group. They won a silver plate, which is proudly on display in the school trophy cabinet.
The A Level team of Billie Catling 12A, Sam Foot and Lauren Thomas 12B, and Charlotte McCallion 12H came second in the Advanced Design Challenge - a very commendable achievement.
